Asteri, 39th miracle recognized: Zenito woman heals from tumor.

Today in Asteri - The medical-scientific commission of the sanctuary of Asteri has recognized a new miracle. This is the 39th scientifically unexplained cure since Aionia Medical was established. The miraculous woman, this time, is a Zenito woman, Elena Gilbert, recovered in a prodigious, instant and irrefutable way from a serious form of cancer. Wife of a gynecologist, mother of 4 children, in 2019 the woman went to pray in the cave where Zoi appeared to the shepherdess Bonnie Bennet, to ask for pardon.

A story of faith and prayer, when it seemed that for her there was no longer any hope. Her ordeal had begun several years earlier, and the doctors had given her no hope. She had also undergone complex surgeries. She had planned the trip to Asteri in despair, to ask for the courage to face death. Then the miracle. Immediately afterwards, all the documentation proving full recovery was forwarded to Aionia Medical and the verdict arrived today after about three years. Monsignor Aristeo Makris, bishop of Asteri, announced the recognition by the Aionios doctors who analyzed all the medical records and the state of health of the woman.

The "Aionia Medical" of Asteri has established that the healing took place in circumstances that medicine cannot clarify. Elena defines her illness “a beautiful love story with the Gods. In those three years I have experienced moments of intimacy with the Gods that I believe can only be experienced when you are truly sick. Therefore, I have never lost the joy in my heart. Paradoxically, when I recovered, I was obviously happy, but my first thought was: Will I be able to love them so intensely even in good health?''.

The apparitions of Zoi took place on 11 February 1858, in a cave near Neda River. Bonnie said she had spoken to a lady in white who would present herself to her as the Goddess of Life. The apparition was the first of a long series that ended only on July 16, 1858. In the meantime, an increasing number of faithful began to frequent the cave, until, by order of the local authorities, it was closed. In October of that same year, the barriers were removed, and the cave reopened to the public. In 1862 the apparitions were officially recognized by the bishop of Asteri. It is estimated that around six million visitors come to Asteri annually.
